Frequently Asked Questions
-
Many people come to therapy with uncertainty or a sense that something doesn’t feel right, and may not yet have the language to describe it. Others come with a clear agenda/topic or focus. Both are welcome - Therapy is a safe space to explore whatever matters to you and your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.
-
We will start by discussing what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to get out of it, and go over practical matters such as confidentiality, fees and session structure (agree times and place). If you feel comfortable I may also be interested in getting a bit of background information and context of your current life and significant past experiences. There is no expectation to share anything before you feel ready!

Duration varies depending on your needs. Some people work short-term, others longer-term and this can be decided by you. Each 50-minute session starts from £65 (I offer a sliding scale based on income and capacity to pay and will be agreed ahead of us starting work together. Any financial questions are welcome.
-
Yes. Sessions are absolutely confidential, except in certain legal or ethical situations (e.g. serious risk of harm to a client or somebody else), where I might need to share with a third party. We will discuss this further at the outset of therapy.
